Big Chill Induction Range: the Benefits of Induction Cooking

Welcome to the technology of the future – Induction cooking is back at Big Chill! Big Chill’s Induction Range is a sleek and versatile powerhouse, with advanced induction technology for precise and efficient cooking. Induction cooking combines the responsiveness of gas with modern safety features, including a glass ceramic top that stays cool to the touch (by only heating the cooking vessel) and heating zones that automatically adjust to the size of your cookware.

In cities like Berkeley and San Francisco, natural gas equipment and appliances are now banned from being installed in new buildings, with more cities expected to follow suit globally. Europeans have also embraced the technology of induction cooking, quickly gaining popularity in modernized homes. This makes induction cooking the cooking method of the future, with innovative technology that advances your culinary techniques in a completely modern way.

How do they look?

Induction ranges look a lot like typical glass-top electric ranges. The biggest difference you’ll notice is that the electromagnetic field on an induction cooktop doesn’t create a glow.

Nine Heating Levels

Big Chill’s Induction Cooktop comes with nine heating levels for exceptional temperature control, allowing you to evenly melt chocolate, simmer sauces, or sear a steak to perfection.

Faster Cook Times, No Cool Down Period

In comparison to electric, induction cooktops cook food more quickly, adjust better to temperature changes, and take no time at all to cool down. Induction cooktops are also very easy to clean, and are indisputably safer than gas and electric.

Important to know: Induction cooking surfaces work well with any pans with a high ferrous metal content at the base. Cast iron pans and any black metal or iron pans will work on an induction cooking surface.

Look for pots and pans advertised as “induction-compatible.” If you want to know whether your existing arsenal of cookware will work with an induction range, use a magnet to see whether it strongly sticks to the bottom of your pots. If it does, it will work on an induction burner.

The Induction Advantage

No other cooking technology is faster than the fastest induction elements—about 2 to 4 minutes speedier than the competition to bring 6 quarts of water to a near-boil.

Advanced Safety Technology

With induction cooktops, the heat is transferring from the cooking pot to the glass through conduction, much as a hot pan would transfer some heat to a countertop if you set it down to rest. As soon as you remove the pot, the heating stops.

Practical Technology

Because the heat is going from the pan to the cooktop, the glass surface never gets as hot as it does on a traditional radiant electric range. If you also turn on an induction burner with no pot on it by mistake, it won’t get hot, which is a practical safety feature that can help avoid accidents.
