Spring into Style

Reflective of the dawn of good things to come, the Spring Edit, a curated palette of custom colors designed in collaboration with interior designer Kate Marker, Owner and Design Principal of Kate Marker Interiors, offers a fresh perspective on Big Chill’s Classic collection. The third in the brand’s series of seasonally-launched color offerings, the Spring Edit’s four colors – Oyster, Light Grey, Telegray, and Pigeon Blue – evoke a clean slate, indicative of the spring season, and hopefulness to inspire uplighting new beginnings.

An artist at heart, Kate began her design career studying Fine Arts at Illinois State University before transferring to Harrington College of Design where she received her degree in Interior Design. Kate has been honing her talents while developing her signature fresh, timeless look since 2000. As Principal Designer, Kate oversees all design projects to ensure they are a reflection of the client while incorporating the KMI aesthetic. Kate's strengths lie in her endless ideas & inspiration, relentless work ethic, unwavering vision, and a great sense of humor, which, lucky for everyone she works with, is infectious. This vision is further evident with her curated palette of custom colors for the Big Chill, best known as the 2021 Spring Edit. Thoughtfully selected, each irresistibly chic addition, shares both Kate’s incomparable eye for style and a lens in which to understand the importance of elevated neutrals.

“The Spring Edit palette plays softly together, and while subdued, each color has a presence on its own,” says Kate. “The colors do not follow one specific trend. Each individually – and as a collection – complements a large variety of wood tones, marble or stone, and metal finishes, making them a beautiful addition to any kitchen or space.” – Kate Marker
