This amazing technology uses electromagnetism to generate instant heat in a flash, and has been popular in Europe for years. With induction cooking, electricity flows through a coil that creates a magnetic field under the glass ceramic top. When an induction-compatible pan is placed on one of the cooking zones, it activates the currents under the pan and generates immediate heat. The rest of the cooktop does not heat up, just the cookware does. If a magnet sticks to your cookware, it will work with our new induction cooktop.
